Opening Weekend/ Festival Special Guest

Jose Gutierez, better known as Jose Xtravaganza began his dance career at the tender age of 7, when he was selected out of thousands of students to be part of a Dance educational program. This program would train and hone his skills as a ballet dancer, earning him a spot in the Eliot Feld Dance Company. As a teenage, he would continue his academic and dance education at the Famed LaGuardia School of Performing arts. During his formative teenage years he would encounter the LGBQT New York City's Ballroom underground scene. This is when he met the legendary House of Xtravaganza, and where he would combined his technical dance training with the street dance form known as Vogue. His mastery of vogue earned him a notoriety, allowing him a feature on Jenni Livington's Paris is Burning, while reaching the then pop SuperStar Madonna. So impressed with Jose's talent she invited him to her Auditions, in which he would beat out 7,000 other dancers, to earn a spot as principle dancer on the Blonde Ambition Tour.

As one of the principle dancers for the Blonde Ambition Tour, he was featured in the Cult Film Classic, Truth or Dare. Jose Xtravaganza would be the only Dancer to continually work with Madonna for 7 years after their initial meeting. His work with Madonna earned him a nomination for Best Choreography at the MTV VMA's, while also jump starting his career as Dancer, Choreographer, Artistic and Creative Director.
